Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has requested Tottenham Hotspur and England defender Danny Rose to "fight" against racism.

During a press conference, Pep said, "The best way to fight to combat this kind of terrible situation is fighting, being there every day."

Earlier, Rose said that he could not wait to leave football because he had had enough of the racism in the game and was frustrated by the response of the authorities to the abuse.

Rose was among several English players who were victims of offensive chanting in a Euro 2020 qualifier in Montenegro last month.

"Danny Rose has not to do that," said Pep Guardiola.

He also suggested, "The best way to fight to combat this kind of terrible situation is fighting, being there every day."

He also mentioned that Rose is an extraordinary football player.
