Philippines gymnast Carlos Yulo has been awarded withfree ramen (instant packed noodles) for life after winning two gold medals at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. Yulo is only the second athlete from Philippines to win a gold at the Olympics.
He won his second gold on Sunday (Aug 4) as he finished with an average of 15.116 on the Vault ahead of silver-medal winner Armenia's Artur Davtyan (14.966) and bronze medalist Britain's Harry Hepworth (14.949). He won his first gold a day prior to Sunday in men's floor exercise.

Apart from free ramen for life, Yulo also got a three-bedroom house and a cash prize amounting to thousands of dollars as promised to the 24-year-old by the government and the brands ahead of the games.
He air punched after winning the second gold and told reporters afterwards that he was just 'hoping' to perform well and not expecting a medal.
"I was just hoping to perform well. I didn't really expect a medal. It really felt like a bonus for me. It's crazy, because last night I couldn't sleep. I was so hyped because I had won that gold medal [the day before]," he said.
Yulo's feat is now the most discussed topic on social media in Philippines. Before him, weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz had earned the country's first ever gold in the Olympics at Tokyo 2021.

Olympic gold medallist Thomas Ceccon was spotted sleeping in a park after the Italian swimmer recently complained about the living conditions inside the Olympic village in the ongoing Paris Games.
The news of Ceccon sleeping in a park was shared by Saudi Arabian rower Husein Alireza via his Instagram story. The timing of the Italain swimmer's photo remains a mystery as it is unclear whether it was taken before or after Ceccon and his teammates' unsuccessful attempt to reach the men's 4x100m medley relay final.
