Since winning the 2024 T20 World Cup in the Americas earlier in June, the Dravid-led coaching staff saw their contracts expire. Though ‘The Wall’ rejoined his former IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals, as their new head coach, T Dilip (India’s fielding coach) retained his place under the new management headed by new head coach Gautam Gambhir.

On the other hand, Vikram Rathour, former India batting coach, also joined Dravid at the Royals in a similar capacity.

Mhambrey is the latest addition to the league, although he was part of MI’s dressing room as part of the coaching panel before joining the Indian Team.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians reappointed their Global Head of Cricket, Mahela Jayawardene, the new head coach on Sunday (Oct 13), a position he held for five years from 2017 to 2022. With Mhambrey also joining the camp, the MI team is working on getting back on track after a horror last season, where they finished at the bottom.

“My journey within the MI family has always been one of evolution. In 2017, the focus was on bringing together a talented group of individuals to play the best cricket ever, and we did very well.
