Malaysia Open: PV Sindhu crashes out after losing to South Korea's Sung Ji Hyun in the 2nd round

India's ace shuttler PV Sindhu Thursday crashed out of the Malaysia Open after losing straight sets to South Korea's Sung Ji Hyun in the second round.

Sindhu fought a tight first game but failed to put up a fight in the second as she went down 18-21, 7-21 in the 43-minute affair.

On Wednesday, Sindhu advanced to the second round after facing some stiff challenge from Japan's Aya Ohori in the first set but completely dominated the second set as she defeated her 22-20, 21-12.

Yesterday, Saina Nehwal was knocked out of the tournament in the first round after losing to Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong 22-20, 15-21, 10-21.

The Indian challenge in the Malaysian Open now rests on Kidambi Srikanth, who will face Thailand's Khosit Phetpradab later in the day.
