LIVE SCORES: Two important matches are being played for India on Thursday (Jan 15) - one is the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26 first semi-final between Vidarbha and Karnataka in Bengaluru and the other is opening match of U-19 ODI World Cup match between India vs USA in Bulawayo Zimbabwe.
Karnataka vs Vidarbha VHT 1st SF: Batting first, Karnataka posted 280 runs in 49.4 overs. Karun Nair top scored for Karnataka with 76 while Kshrijith scored 54 runs. The duo added 113 runs for the fourth wicket to bring back Karnataka in the game. For Vidarbha, Darshan Nalkande finished with 5/48.
During the chase, Vidarbha lost the first wicket early but then Dhruv Shorey and Mokhade added 98 runs for the 2nd wicket and then Aman Mokhade added 147 runs for the third wicket with R Samarth to bat out Karnataka out of chase. Mokhade eventually got out for 138 but the team only needed 20 odd runs by then. Samarth, staying unbeaten on 76 runs, guided Vidarbha to a 6-wicket win.
IND vs USA, U19 ODI WC: Batting first, USA U-19 were dismissed for a paltry 107 runs in 35.2 overs with Henil Patel taking 5/16. USA batters could never get going and half of their side was back in the hut for less than 40 runs. Nitishi Sudini top scored with 36 runs but India U19, five-time champions of the tournament, chased the target easily.
The original target of 107 runs was reduced to 96 after a rain-delay which the Indian batters chased in 17.2 overs with 6 wickets in hand. Abhigyan Kundu top scored for India with 42 runs while Ritvik took two wickets for the USA.
Vidarbha lost the first wicket early but then Dhruv Shorey and Mokhade added 98 runs for the 2nd wicket and then Aman Mokhade added 147 runs for the third wicket with R Samarth to bat out Karnataka out of chase. Mokhade eventually got out for 138 but the team only needed 20 odd runs by then. Samarth, staying unbeaten on 76 runs, guided Vidarbha to a 6-wicket win. Abhilash finished with 3/48 for Karnataka.
Mokhade's sensational innings comes to an end in the 42nd over but not before he put his team on the course for a massive win and a place in the final. Samarth, meanwhile, is still batting and will surely be getting his team over the line in this comprehensive win which is just 5 runs away.

Over 43 (Kaverappa): 5 Runs
Over 44 (Patil): 11 Runs
Over 45 (Kaverappa): 5 Runs
Mokhade and Samarth have added 100 runs for the third wicket and Vidarbha has effectively batted out Karnataka out of the match. While Mokhade is batting past 100, Samarth has also crossed his 50. Just a formality left now for Vidarbha to complete.
Over 36 (Shetty): 9 Runs
Over 37 (Kaverappa): 15 Runs
Over 38 (Gopal): 7 Runs
Over 39 (Manvanth): 10 Runs
Over 40 (Gopal): 7 Runs
A brilliant hundred by Mokhade and Vidarbha's required runs are less than 100 now. Barring a sensational performance from Karnataka bowlers, they are not winning this.
Over 31 (Prabhakar): 8 Runs
Over 32 (Gopal): 7 Runs
Over 33 (Patil): 5 Runs
Over 34 (Shetty): 8 Runs
Over 35 (Patil): 9 Runs
Mokhade cruising along in the chase and so is Vidarbha. The batter is nearing the hundred and Vidarbha is less than half away from the target. Karnataka needs wickets and need them now or they'll be out of the match sooner than they think.
Over 26 (Manvanth): 10 Runs
Over 27 (Kaverappa): 8 Runs
Over 28 (Manvanth): 3 Runs
Over 29 (Kaverappa): 5 Runs

Over 21 (Gopal): 8 Runs
Over 22 (Shetty): 3 Runs
Over 23 (Gopal): 5 Runs
Over 24 (Shetty): 4 Runs & 1 wicket (Shorey 47 runs)
Over 25 (Gopal): 8 Runs
Shorey and Mokhade are now bossing the chase, having already added 90 runs for the second wicket. Both the batters are in their 40s and should be completing their 50.

Over 17 (Vyshak): 12 Runs
Over 18 (Patil): 6 Runs
Over 19 (Gopal): 4 Runs
Over 20 (Patil): 11 Runs
And India U19 have won by six wickets to start their campaign. Abhigyan Kundu scored 42 not out to steer the chase which started a bit woobly after three quick wickets, two off them by Ritvik.
A bit of a set back with two quick wickets for the India U19 including captain Ayush Mhatre but a rain-adjusted target of 96 runs in 37 overs means they are already through half of the runs needed and still on course for a comfortable win. Also, team fifty is up.
Over 6 (Shimpi): 8 Runs & 1 wicket (Mhatre 19)
Over 7 (Ritvik): 6 Runs
Over 8 (Shimpi): 10 Runs
Over 9 (Ritvik): 8 Runs

Over 12 (Patil): 3 Runs
Over 13 (Vyshak): 7 Runs
Over 14 (Patil): 6 Runs
Over 15 (Vyshak): 6 Runs
Poor start for India but the target is too low for it to cause any serious trouble. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, India's 14-year-old teen sensation, however, will rue the missed chance as he goes out for just 2 runs in first U-19 WC innings. Ritvik struck again in the first over after the rain-break.
Over 1 (Ritvik): 3 Runs
Over 2 (Shimpi): 9 Runs
Over 3 (Ritvik): 7 Runs & 1 wicket (Suryavanshi 2 runs)
Over 4 (Shimpi): 2 Runs
Over 5 (Ritvik): Maiden & Wicket (Vedant 2 Runs)
Great bowling by Karnataka so far has restricted free flow of runs for Vidarbha. Mokhade and Dhruv Shorey are trying to battle out this difficult phase and hopefully cash in later in the match. As of now, Karnataka ahead in Vidarbha's chase of 281.
Over 6 (Shetty): 4 Runs
Over 7 (Kaverappa): 7 Runs
Over 8 (Shetty): 4 Runs
Over 9 (Kaverappa): Maiden
Over 10 (Shetty): 9 Runs
Atharva Taide and Aman Mokhade have begun the chase of 281 runs for Vidarbha. A good opening partnership will go a long way to win the match and both the openers were cautious before Abilash Shetty took out Taide for just 6 runs.
Over 1 (Kaverappa): Maiden
Over 2 (Shetty): 2 Runs
Over 3 (Kaverappa): 6 Runs
Over 4 (Shetty): 1 Run & 1 wicket (Atharva Taide 6 Runs)

The innings is over and Karnataka finished at 280 in 49.4 overs. Karun Nair top scored with the bat, hitting 76 runs when his team was in deep crisis while Nalkande finished with a five-wicket haul. Vidarbha would back themselves to chase down the target. Vidarbha needs 281 runs in 50 overs @ 5.62 rpo.

Over 50 (Thakur): 6 Runs & 1 wicket (Vyshak 17 runs)
Join us for the chase in a few!
Another 50-run stand and this time in quick duration as Karnataka look to finish strong. Gopal has taken it upon himself to score fast runs while Manohar does the strike rotating. But Nalkande struck again for his third wicket of the day and sent back Gopal. Manohar now key for the final score of Karnataka.
Over 41 (Dubey): 3 Runs
Over 42 (Bhute): 8 Runs
Over 43 (Nalkande): 10 Runs
Over 44 (Bhute): 4 Runs
Over 45 (Nalkande): 4 Runs & 1 wicket (Gopal 36 runs)
Poor start for India but the target is too low for it to cause any serious trouble. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, India's 14-year-old teen sensation, however, will rue the missed chance as he goes out for just 2 runs in first U-19 WC innings.
Over 1 (Ritvik): 3 Runs
Over 2 (Shimpi): 9 Runs
Over 3 (Ritvik): 7 Runs & 1 wicket (Suryavanshi 2 runs)
Over 4 (Shimpi): 2 Runs
26 runs in last 5 overs - a bit of stoppage in the run scoring rate after two wickets in two overs that too of set batters. But Gopal and Manohar are capable to big shots at will and would be looking to take the game deep before unleashing in the last 5 overs.
Over 36 (Nalkande): 1 Run
Over 37 (Kadam): 7 Runs
Over 38 (Atharva): 7 Runs
Over 39 (Dubery): 4 Runs
Over 40 (Atharva): 7 Runs
Nair misses his century but nonetheless a great innings during crisis time. He added 113 runs for the 4th wicket with Shrijith who has also crossed his fifty but was out in the 35th over. These two have given Karnataka a platform to finish strong in the last 15 overs with 300 very much in sight. Shreyas Gopal is the new batter in with Abhinav Manohar for company.
Over 31 (Thakur): 15 Runs
Over 32 (Dubey): 5 Runs
Over 33 (Thakur): 11 Runs
Over 34 (Nalkande): 4 Runs & 1 wicket (Nair 76 runs)
Over 35 (Kadam): 2 Runs & 1 wicket (Shrijith 54 runs)
A brilliant 50 for Nair who is holding this Karnataka innings together and a second consecutive 50-run stand, this time for the fourth wicket between Nait and Shrijith. Karnataka also amping up the run-rate now. Things looking good at the moment for still 20 more overs to go. Karnataka has also crossed 150-run mark as well. 40 Runs in last 5 overs.
Over 26 (Dubey): 6 Runs
Over 27 (Kadam): 8 Runs
Over 28 (Dubey): 9 Runs
Over 29 (Kadam): 7 Runs

And USA U-19 have been bowled out for a paltry score of 107. vaibhav Suryavanshi took the last wicket, striking with his second ball. Nitish Sudini was the top scorer for USA with 36 Runs and Henil Patel took 5/16 for India.
India U-19 need 108 runs in 50 overs @ 2.16 runs per over.
Karnataka reached the team 100 in 22 overs with Nair still on the crease and looking good. Nair is closing in on hie fifty - a vital one at the moment for the team Shrijith, meanwhile, is offering supporting role at the moment and the duo have added 42 runs for the fourth wicket.
Over 21 (Kadam): 3 Runs
Over 22 (Bhute): 8 Runs
Over 23 (Kadam): 2 Runs
Over 24 (Bhute): 8 Runs
Over 25 (Kadam): 6 Runs
100 up for the USA but they are still nowhere in a position to challenge the Indian team. They'd would be looking to add as many runs as possible in the last 15 overs, 100 more if one is dreaming, but with only one more wicket left, it is a matter for time before India is batting. Henil, meanwhile, is on fire with a five-for.
Over 31 (Khilan): 3 Runs
Over 32 (Kanishk): 7 Runs
Over 33 (Khilan): 7 Runs
Over 34 (Kanishk): 6 Runs
Over 35 (Henil): 2 Runs & 2 wicket (Sabrish 7 runs, Shimpi)
Karnataka: 89/3 in 20 overs (Prabhakar 28, Thakur 1/12)
A good 52-run partnerhsip between Prabhakar and Nair but broken by Nalkande witht the wicket of Prabhakar on 28. Again, the task is rebuilding for Karnataka with Nair still the senior batter on the crease.
Over 16 (Dubey): 6 Runs
Over 17 (Nalkande): 6 Runs & 1 wicket (Prabhakar 28 runs)
Over 18 (Dubey): 3 Runs
Over 19 (Nalkande): 4 Runs
Over 20 (Dubey): 8 Runs
USA U-19: 80/7 in 30 overs (Nitish 19, Henil 3/14)
USA batters are now taking some chances but with just 75 runs on board and four wickets left, the end isn't far for them barring a miracle. And, to add to an insult a run-out in the 30th over, thanks to some great fielding by Vihaan Malhotra.
Over 26 (Kanishk): 3 Runs
Over 27 (Ambrish): 2 Runs
Over 28 (Kanishk): 3 Runs
Over 29 (Khilan): 2 Runs
Over 30 (Kanishk): Maiden & 1 wicket (Adit 5 runs)
Karnataka: 62/2 in 15 overs (Prabhakar 23, Thakur 1/12)
Karnataka needs a big partnership here if they want to make a match out of this contest. So far, pretty ordinary batting by the batters and some great bowling by Vidarbha. A crusial 42-run stand for the third wicket is developing between Nair and Prabhakar but a lot of work still to be done. The batting team, although has crossed the 50-run mark, courtesy a four by Nair and Prabhakar each in 13th over off Nalkande. 29 runs in last 5 overs.
Over 11 (Bhute): 5 Runs
Over 12 (Dubey): 5 Runs
Over 13 (Nalkande): 11 Runs
Over 14 (Dubey): 3 Runs
Over 15 (Nalkande): 5 Runs
USA U-19: 70/6 in 25 overs (Adnit 18, Henil 3/14)
India bowlers are going through the overs very very fast and USA were having a little stand for themselves for the 6th wicket between Nitish and Adnit before Ambrish struck for his first wicket and removed Adnit. They'd still have to do a lot of work to offer any challenge whatsoever to a strong batting line up led by Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Over 21 (Kanishk): 3 Runs
Over 22 (Khilan): 2 Runs
Over 23 (Kanishk): 4 Runs
Over 24 (Khilan): 7 Runs
Over 25 (Ambrish): 3 Runs & 1 wicket (Adnit 18 runs)
USA U-19: 51/5 in 20 overs (Mahesh 16, Henil 3/14)
Khilan Patel introduced into the attack and the left-arm spinner strikes in his very first over without giving away a run! Half of the USA side is back in the hut for less than 40 runs. This is turning out to be a party for the Indian bowlers and a nightmare for the USA batters. India gave away just 8 runs in the overs from 15 to 20, strangulating the oppostion who crossed their fifty in the 20th over.
Over 16 (Kahilan): Maiden & 1 wicket (Amogh Arepally 3 Runs)
Over 17 (Ambrish): 4 Runs
Over 18 (Kahilan): 2 Runs
Over 19 (Kanishk): 1 Run
Over 20 (Khilan): 5 Runs
Karnataka: 33/2 in 10 overs (Prabhakar 9, Thakur 1/12)
Nobody expected how this match is turning out to be. Padikkal, who took 18 balls to get of the mark, was dismissed on the over next ball and Karnataka are now in some early trouble. They do have batting with Karun Nair, who lit up last season of VHT for Vidarbha, is batting with Dhruv Prabhakar who showed intent with two fours in 8th over off Bhute. Nair, however, took 19 balls to get off the mark and hopefully makes it count for Karnataka.
Over 6 (Bhute): 1 Run
Over 7 (Thakur): 6 Runs & 1 wicket (Padikkal 4 Runs)
Over 8 (Bhute): 10 Runs
Over 9 (Thakur): Maiden
Over 10 (Nalkande): 2 Runs
USA U-19: 39/2 in 15 overs (Mahesh 16, Henil 3/14)
Sensational bowling by India - just 7 runs in the five overs along with two more wickets - both by Henil Patel that too in one over. Ambrish, who came on as first change, has also not let the pressure off with tight lines. USA need a partnership here to make a match out of this contest because it is looking too easy for India as of now.
Over 11 (Ambrish): 2 Runs
Over 12 (Henil): 1 Run & 2 wickets (Utkarsh 0 & Arjun Mahesh 16)
Over 13 (Ambrish): 3 Runs
Over 14 (Deepesh): Maiden
Over 15 (Ambrish): 1 Run
Karnataka: 14/1 in 5 overs (Mayank 9, Bhute 1/8)
Karnataka has won the toss and elected to bat first in Bengaluru against Vidarbha in the 1st semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26. Padikkal has opened the batting with Mayank Agarwal. The duo have been watchful in the first 5 overs with Padikkal yet to open his account after 17 balls - strange for a batter with 721 runs four 4 hundreds in the tournament. Vidarbha bowlers Yash Thakur and Nachiket Bhute must get the word of appraisal too for bowling tight lines and keeping a tab on scoring along with taking a wicket of skipper Agarwal. Karun Nair now has joined Padikkal on the crease.
Over 1 (Thakur): 6 Runs
Over 2 (Bhute): 4 Runs
Over 3 (Thakur): Maiden
Over 4 (Bhute): 4 Runs & 1 wicket (Agarwal 9 Runs)
Over 5 (Thakur): Maiden
USA U-19: 32/2 in 10 overs (Mahesh 15, Henil 1/13)
India U-19 on top of things vs USA in the first 10 overs. The young bowlers have taken a wicket and given away runs at a meagre run rate of just above 3. This is great start by India and not surprising given they are the five-time champions - the most by any team.
Henil Patel (5-1-13-1) struck in the second over of the match and his third ball of the day, dismissing Amrinder Gill for just 1 run. His partner Deepesh Devendran has been effective as well, giving away just 19 runs in five overs, and taking a wicket too.
Both Indian bowlers tied down the scoring and reaped rewards for creating the pressure.
