IPL 2024: Female CSK fan alleges drunk RCB supporters of abuse and bullying

In a shocking turn of events following the thrilling tie between hosts RCB and CSK at M Chinnaswamy in IPL 2024, a female Chennai Super Kings fan took to social media to reveal what happened to her after the game. As the Bengaluru camp burst into joy after a 27-run win over CSKand also qualifiedfor the playoffs, RCB fans took to the streets with the internet filled with videos of them enjoying their hearts out.

That, however, comes with its set of cons.

An X user alleges that she felt unsafe wearing the CSK jersey outside of Chinnaswamy as drunken RCB fans were abusing and bullying everyone walking by. She also accused home fans of rash driving, creating unrest.

“Feeling unsafe wearing a csk jersey outside and around Chinnaswamy stadium. RCB fans (men) here are abusing and bullying every single person walking by. So Many men out here are so drunk and abusing onfacebe it women or men. People are also rash driving, scaring tf out us,” a user posted on X (previously known as Twitter).

In the following post, she tagged the Bengaluru Police to take immediate action, to which the concerned department replied immediately.

“@BlrCityPolice @blrcitytrafficyougotta do something about this,” her following post read.

The Bengaluru City Police replied, “Please dial Namma 112 and report immediately.”

Kohli spoils Dhoni’s finaldance

Virat Kohli vs MS Dhoni was the highlight, with only one certain to go through to the playoffs.While ahead of this game, CSK was sitting comfortably to book the playoff berth, RCB – on a five-match winning spree, needed more than justa goodperformance to reach the final four, which they eventually did.

In a game that was said to be marred by the rain, interrupted for over half an hour right after the start but saw no further interruption till the end.

The hosts batted first after losing the toss, with skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli adding 78 for the first wicket. Handy contributions from Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green propelled RCB to 218 for five in 20 overs.

CSK got off to a worst possible start, losing Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad on a first-ball duck. Rachin Ravindra starred with the bat, hitting 61, while Rahane scored 33 during a brief stay at the crease. Wickets kept falling, but Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni took the game to the last over.

Yash Dayal won the battle as he defended 17 runs off the final over to see his team through.
