Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi believes in the current Pakistan team and also he is confident that the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side can win the Cricket World Cup 2019.

Ahead of Pakistan's second match against England, Afridi took to Twitter to wish the team a good luck, he wrote, "I'm fully confident in our team and their capabilities & truly believe they can go on to win this World Cup."

Afridi also wished the team and captain, he said, "Wishing the best of luck to our boys including @SarfarazA_54."

"Early games are crucial in building up confidence & momentum; we should strive for a win against England 2day," added Afridi.

This is Pakistan's quest to win the World Cup for a second time.

In 1992, they had won itunder the inspirational captaincy of Imran Khan.

All-rounder Imran top-scored for Pakistan in the final with 72 in a total of 249 for six against England, who were dismissed for 227.

Pakistan lost their campaign opener to West Indies at Trent Bridge on Friday.

Batting first, Pakistan slump to just 105 in a mere 21.4 overs and it was their second-lowest World Cup total since a paltry 74 against England at Adelaide in 1992, the year Imran Khan's team went on to lift their only 50-overs crown.

West Indies achieved the target in 13.4 overs with the help of Chris Gayle's 34-ball 50 which included six fours and three sixes.
