Darren Lehmann has stepped down as Australian coach after the ball-tampering scandal.
The fourth Test match ofthe Australia-South Africa series -- which is scheduled to start from Friday at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg -- will be his last test as the Australian coach.
Darren Lehmann, coach of the scandal-tainted Australia cricket team, said on Thursday that he would quit after the fourth and final Test of a series in South Africa.
With teary eyes, coach Lehmann said, "This will be my last Test as head coach of the Australian cricket team."
He further added, "Saying goodbye to the players was the toughest thing I have ever had to do."
Recently, Cricket Australia banned Steve Smith and David Warner for 12 months and a 9-month ban has been given to Cameron Bancroft after the ball-tampering row which has engulfed the cricket world in the Australia-South Africa series.
Following an investigation, Cricket Australia chief James Sutherland announced the punishments to the tarnished players in the wake of the ball-tampering row.
