The body of Lashkar commander Junaid Mattoo was recovered along with two others after they were killed by security forces in an encounter on Friday.
The joint operation was carried out by Indian Army, CRPF and the Jammu and Kashmir police.
Besides Mattoo, bodies of two other terrorists, Adil Mushtaq Mir and Nisar Ahmad Wani, were also recovered.
All three terrorists belonged to the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Mattoo, who came from Kulgam, became the South Kashmir commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba after he killed two policemen last year in June.
Mir and Wani belonged to Kashmir's Pampore and Shopian respectively. The duo took to militancy after Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter last year in July.
