
At least 25 Taliban militants have been killed and 13 others have been injured in the central Ghazni province of Afghanistan.
The Provincial Police Office's statement on Monday saidthat the militants were killed on Sunday during an ongoing military operation.
The 'Nabard-e-Ahanin' operation was launched a week ago in Deh Yak district of the province to clear the area of insurgents.
Officials say that the operation is still underway adding that "the air force is also supporting the forces."
Separately, 12 militants were killed as Afghan military warplanes attacked Taliban hideouts in the northern Badakhshan, Faryab and Sari Pul provinces on Monday.
The government attacked the hideouts with bombs in Badakhshan province’s Wardoj district, killing six insurgents.
On Sunday, at least 100 militants were killed in total by the security forces in the country. This comes following three major militant attacks in Kabul during the past two weeks.
