
AIADMK general secretary Sasikalareached Agrahara jail in Bengaluru by road to surrender to the Karnataka police. The AIADMK leader wasfound guilty in the disproportionate assets case by the Supreme Court yesterday.
Reports saidshe requested the court to provide "A"class cell, medical facility & place for meditation.Sasikala was imprisoned after completion of court formalities and medical check-up. The judge had earlier turned down her pleafor two more weeks to surrender and request for home food.
She was accompanied by her legal team along with her husbandwith security forces lining up the streets along the way in Karnataka. There were stray incidents of violence by Sasikala's supporters as she surrendered to police, media reports said.
Meanwhile, police have reached the Golden Bay resort at Koovathur, outside Chennai toflushout AIADMK MLAs who werestationed there by Sasikala for over a week.
The authorities have given the MLAs time till 3pm(Indian Standard Time)to come out of the resort.
Riot police is on alert outside the resort. Media reports say over 5,000 police officials have been deployed around the complex. The police have filed an FIR against Sasikala and Edapadi Palanisamy for alleged

Political events in Tamil Nadu continuedto twist and turn evenas Sasikala was being hauled up in jail.Palinsamy,who was appointed as the legislative party head by Sasikala, met the Tamil Nadu GovernorC Vidyasagar to stake claim to form the government. A few hours later, the interimchief minister of Tamil Nadu O.Panneerselvam who was expelled from the AIADMKby Sasikala also met the Governor this evening as the political situation remained fluid with all eyes on the Governor's next move.
