Ameca has 32 actuators, out of which 27 are only for facial control and five others are for the robot's neck.

Because of these, the bot can make eerily human-like facial expressions, portraying various emotions like happiness and disgust.

Ameca's companion Azi has been given more masculine facial features.

"Introducing Azi (right), the new desktop robot from Engineered Arts Ltd," wrote Engineered Arts in the caption for the video.

"Azi and Ameca are having a little chat, demonstrating their wide range of expressive capabilities," it added.

Here's what happens in the video

As the video starts, Azi stares at Ameca whose eyes are closed and he wakes her up.

"What, what?" says Ameca and adds, "Oh, it's you. Why are you waking me up? It better be important."

Azi then tells Ameca about a surprise he has, which is a cookie. Ameca appears confused and then asks Azi, "A cookie? But I can't eat cookies."

Azi then says that he meant an internet cookie. Ameca wrinkles her nose and replies, "This is the worst joke I ever heard. I'm going back to sleep, and don't you dare wake me up again."

Netizens react to the video

Reacting to the video, a netizen said, "They have great chemistry I want a movie now."
