In an interview with China's state-run daily Global Times, India's newly-appointed ambassador to China Gautam Bambawale said people in India do not have an anti-China mentality while asserting that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC) "violates" India's territorial integrity.

A fire broke out at the Srinagar International Airport today in the area under the control of the Indian Air Force, disrupting the air traffic for some time, officials said.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday tabled the economic survey in Parliament which noted that the reform measures undertaken in 2017-18 can be strengthened further in 2018-19. The survey points out that India can be rated as among the best performing economies in the world as the average growth during last three years is around four percentage points higher than global growth and nearly three percentage points higher than that of emerging market and developing economies.

Benchmark Sensex zoomed 233 points to end at yet another record high today after the Economic Survey said India will re-establish itself as the world's fastest-growing major economy with GDP expanding by 7-7.5 per cent in 2018-19.
