'I pray God to give strength to Ankit's family; we're with them,' Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his regret over Ankit Saxena's murder and met with his kin today.
He condemned the incident and noted that the government of Delhi will try its utmost to get the best lawyer to defend Saxena's case and ensure that the culprits are punished.
"I pray God to give strength to Ankit's family; we're with them," Kejriwal noted.
Ankit Saxena, a 23-year-old photographer by profession, was allegedly killed by the family members of his Muslim girlfriend on Friday.
Saxena was dating the 20-year-old woman for three years against the wishes of her family.
Ankit was allegedly attacked by his girlfriend's parents, uncle and brother. He was beaten and his throat was slit with a knife.
"Three accused -- the mother, father and uncle of the woman -- have been sent to judicial custody. Her minor brother has been sent to the juvenile home," a senior police officer said.
The incident occurred in west Delhi.
