West Bengal government officials met on Saturday with the family members of the man who was burnt to death in Rajasthan's Rajsamand.
The officials visited the victim's residence in Malda, gave his wife a widow's pension and assured employment to his next of kin.
Rajasthan government on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the family of the man who was identified as Mohammed Afrazul, a migrant from Malda, West Bengal. Afrazul was reportedly burnt to death because his attacker accused him of 'love jihad'.
A video of the incident went viral on social media showing Afrazul getting beaten by a local resident who is now arrested.
Afrazul is first seen getting hit with an axe and is later set on fire.
The accused is heard saying, ''those who indulge in 'love jihad' will be met with the same fate,'' in the video.
A special investigation team (SIT) investigates the case at present.
