A political worker in south Kashmir's Shopian district was stripped and beaten mercilessly by unidentified militants, the video of the incident went viral on social media on Monday.
The man, Gulzar Ahmaed, who is a deputy sarpanch affiliated to the Congress was threatened by militants at gunpoint.
The police are now investigating the case. The video of the incident is being verified by police.

This is not the first time unidentified militants have threatened political workers in Jammu and Kashmir.
The militants had earlier targeted people linked to political parties in the state with reports of their houses being ransacked.
