The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has confirmed allegation of rape against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in Unnao, sources in the investigating agency said.

According to the CBI, Shashi Singh had brought the victim to Kuldeep's house. The CBI corroborated the incident which took place on June 4th last year, sources said, confirming the BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar had raped the girl.

CBI sources said later on June 11th three youths abducted the girl and gangrapedherin an SUV.

The CBI is also investigating the role of the local police in the rape case.

The victim's mother had alleged in a complaint to the local police that the woman - Shashi Singh, had lured her daughter to the MLA's house. The mother had also alleged that Shashi Singh stood outside the room as a guard.

CBI had arrested had arrested both Sengar and Shashi Singh last month and had taken over the investigation in three cases related to the alleged rape of the 17-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district.

The UP government had handed the case to the premier investigating agency after a nationwide uproar.
