The Supreme Court is to hear aplea seeking 'complete ban' on firecrackers in Delhi and NCR onFriday.
A bench headed byJustice A K Sikrion October 6banned the sale of firecrackers in the national capital till November 1, 2017.
In a plea filed in the apex court on October 27,Arjun Gopal sought the ban on firecrackersbeyond November 1.
The court in its earlier order stated thatlifting the ban on the sale of firecrackers might require a "review" after Diwali depending on the ambient air quality after the festival - which is set for today.
Advocate Gopal Shankarnarayanan, appearing for Gopal, had earlier contended before the court that ban on the use of firecrackersshould be restored as the NCR had witnessed a huge rise in air pollution during and after Diwali last year.
