Member of Parliament Kirron Kher shared her views on the gangrape of a 22-year old woman in Chandigarh on Wednesday.
At a press conference in Chandigarh, Kirron Kher said, "I would like to say this to all girls, if there are three men already sitting inside the auto, you must not take it. I am saying this to protect our girls".
She went on to say that back in Mumbai when she used to take a taxi, she would always make someone take down the taxi number, "all this is for our own safety, we need to be cautious about these things," she noted.
In another statement, she clarified saying, "I just wanted to convey that girls must be cautious about their own safety. Politics should not be played here, Chandigarh Police always sends a PCR whenever a girl reports by calling 100".
Reportedly, the rape victim was returning to Mohali from her class in Sector 37. She was raped and later dumped in Sector 53.
