Shashi Kapoor's demise: Modi, Rahul pay tribute

Tributes poured in from prime minister, finance minister, home minister and several other senior political leaders and film personalities to veteran Bollywood superstar Shashi Kapoor who died aged 79 on Monday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi showered praise on the actor's acting ability and said ''his brilliant acting will be remembered for generations to come. Saddened by his demise''.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the inimitable mannerism of the veteran actor and said "Sashi Kapoor charmed a generation of Indians''.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, I&B Minister Smriti Iranialso paid rich tributes to the veteran actor.
