Amid noisy protests in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday tore into the Congress for what he termed as "dividing" Andhra Pradesh and earlier the country in 1947 for political gains.

The speech of the Prime Minister comes a day after two of NDA allies attacked the Central government in the Lower House.

  1. I know the Government's efforts to eliminate corruption & black money are hurting a select group of people. 
  2. Today, people who served as Chief Ministers are in jail. If one has been corrupt, that person will be punished. We are in an era of honesty.

  10. You (Congress) said Modi will scrap UIDAI but we made Aadhaar more effective in terms of enabling better and effective service delivery, suddenly you are opposing Aadhaar.
  11. The governments of West Bengal, Karnataka, Odisha and Kerala where BJP or NDA is not in power have claimed with data that they have given 1 crore jobs in the last 3-4 years. Will you dispute their job claims too?
  12. Irrespective of who heads the government, the aspirations of the brimming middle-class youth should always be the top priority.
  13. How did the Congress act in Kerala, how did they treat the Akali Dal in Punjab, how did they behave in Tamil Nadu? Why did Congress dismiss so many state governments at their will? This is no commitment to democracy.
  14. You spent time ensuring that only one family is remembered and nobody else. If your (Congress') intentions were good, the country would have been far ahead of where it is now.
  15. When you divided India, when you divided the country- there is not even a single day, when, 125 crore Indians do not suffer the repercussions of your wrongdoings.
  16. Every Indian is paying the price of the poison infested by Congress.
  17. Congress was never connected to ground, never worked at ground level and it shows clearly as we look at your situation today.
  18. Stop misleading the country by false statements on jobs and employment. The truth is quite the opposite.
  19. He also questioned the conscience behind opposing just for the sake of opposing. 
  20. President's address does not belong to a particular party. It is the representative of the aspiration of the nation.
