If Sanjay Leela Bhansali's video on Thursday was not enough, now the production house Bhansali productions has sent a letter to the National President of Akhand Rajput Seva Sangh clarifying that the film Padmavati does not malign the honour of the Rajput community.
The letter, of which WION has a copy of, is a response to Sangh's letter dated November 2. The letter states that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a 'responsible filmmaker and the production house 'respects all communities'.
"Due to a certain rumour and false propaganda and news, this film is being attacked and is in the midst of protests from the Rajput community. We state for the record that the film portrays the honour, bravery, valour and dignity of the Rajputs and their beloved queen, Rani Padmavati. We further confirm that we have not in any manner deflected from the honour, pride and supreme sacrifices made by Rani Padmavati has been depicted in the most dignified manner," the letter states.
"We have time and again clarified and once again reassure you that there is no intimate scene/dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Allaudin Khilji, " the letter further adds.
The film has been in the eye of storm since January this year over an alleged scene between Rani Padmavati and Allaudin Khilji. While the makers have denied the inclusion of any such scene, the film continues to face opposition from various Rajput communities.
The film is scheduled to release on December 1 and stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead.
