Nawazuddin's mother Mehroonisa among BBC's 100 Most Influential Women

Indian actorNawazuddin Siddiqui has expressed his happiness for his mother being named among BBC's100 most influential women list of 2017.

His mother,Mehroonisa Siddiqui was a surprise addition to the list and the actor shared a photo on Twitter to congratulate her. The post reads: "A lady who showed courage against all odds being in a conservative family from a small village-My Mother."

Other achievers who made it to the list includeIndian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj, Dr Urvashi Sahni --a social entrepreneur, women's rights activist and educationist, Nitya Thummalachetty -- a business analyst at CareCentra, and Tulika Kiran -- founder and CEO of Embibe.
