Mumbai's slum area Dharavi reports 14 new COVID-19 cases

Mumbai's slum area Dharavi reported 14 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases to 344 on Wednesday.

There were no deaths reported in the area today.

Three new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Mahim and no new cases have been reported in Dadar, Mumbai's municipal authorities said.

Meanwhile, the Punjab health department said 33 new coronavirus cases were reported in the state in the last 24 hours including eight from SAS Nagar and eleven in Ludhiana.

The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 375 in Punjab. At least 104 patients have been cured in the state with 19 deaths reported.

In Bihar, nine more COVID-19 cases were reported taking the total number of coronavirus cases to 392 in the state.

In Assam, seven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers tested positive for coronavirus, state authorities said, while declaring that 37 persons have been infected so far with the virus.

As the virus footprint continued to grow the country, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said: "There will be relaxations in the green zone and the orange zone where stand-alone shops of essential items will remain open from Monday."

"There will be no relaxation for containment areas," the West Bengal chief minister added.
