Delhi: Man arrested for raping her daughter for a year
The girl told her mother that she was being raped for over a year by her father and did not tell anyone as he had threated to kill her and that no one would believe her.
A man was arrested on Saturday evening for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter for over a year.
The accused, who was from Jagatpuri in east Delhi was booked under the protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after the girl's mother filed a complaint when she found out that the daughter had been stealing money to buy painkillers, reports said.
The girl told her mother that she was being raped for over a year by her father and did not tell anyone as he had threated to kill her and that no one would believe her.
According to reports, the man worked as a daily wage labourer with his wife and teenage son in Jagatpuri while the girl was a class IX student.
It was reported that the father had come home drunk one day, upon finding the girl alone he raped her and told her not to tell anyone and had since been assaulting the girl whenever he would find her alone.
The girl has suffered from some medical problems due to continuous sexual encounters, she is now being counselled by psychologists and receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the father is being investigated to understand how long the incident had been going on for, reports said.
