Maharashtra woman attacks tiger with stick, to save goat

Rupali Meshram from Maharashtra had a near-death experience when she fought with a tiger who saved her goat last week.

Rupali, 23, ran out of her house when she heard her goat scream out of terror as the tiger attacked it. She then picked up a stick and hit the tiger and was then counter-attacked, leaving her with multiple injuries.

If it hadn't been for her mother, who pulled her inside, the situation could have been much worse. The mother also sustained some minor injuries, reports said.

Rupali had injuries on her head, waist, legs, and hands, but they were only superficial and she has been able to make a full recovery.

A doctor who treated her praised her "exemplary courage" in fighting off the tiger but said she was lucky not to have been bitten by the animal.
