PM Modi today addressed the people on the government's Ujjwala Yogna scheme via the Namo App on Monday
The prime minister said the Ujjawala scheme is a sign of vikas(development) and is transforming lives, adding, "LPG has reformed our villages."
"Till 2014, 13 crore families got LPG connection. This means, for over six decades the figure stood at 13 crore," he said while pointing out that it was "mostly the rich people who got LPG connections."
"In the last 4 years, 10 crore new connections have been added and the poor benefited," the prime minister added.
"Our focus is on women empowerment," the PM said on the Namo App.
"We want to reach 10 crorepeople living below the poverty line(BPL)," the Indian prime minister said.
"The Ujjwala yojana has strengthened the lives of the poor, marginalised, the Dalits and tribal communities. This initiative is playing a central role in social empowerment," PM Modi said.
