Lalu granted five-day parole to attend son's wedding

RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is serving a prison sentence in the multi-crore fodder scam, has been granted a five-day parole on Wednesday to attend son Tej Pratap Yadav's wedding. He is currently admitted in Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi.
Lalu will be flown to Patna this evening.
Lalu, who has been convicted in three fodder scam cases by a special CBI court in Ranchi, is currently undergoing treatment at RIMS hospital in the Jharkhand capital.
Meanwhile, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday submitted documents of around 20,000 pages in Delhi's Patiala House court in connection with the IRCTC hotel scam case in which Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav and 11 others are accused.
The case pertains to alleged irregularities in allotting a contract to a private company for the maintenance of IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri when Lalu was the railway minister from 2004 to 2009.
In July 2017, the CBI registered a corruption case against Lalu, Rabri, Tejashwi and others in the case.
