Killer dumplings? Woman dies after eating momo, 15 others suffer food poisoning

In a shocking incident, a 33-year-old woman died after eating momofrom a street food stall in the Banjara Hills area of the Indian city of Hyderabad and 15 others fell sick, said the police.
The street vendor was reportedly selling momoat different locations in the city.
According to media reports, the woman identified as Reshma Begum and her two daughters, aged 12 and 14, consumed the momos in Khairatabad on Friday (Oct 25).
The woman died on Sunday (Oct 27) and her daughters have been receiving treatment, as reported by NDTV. The woman was a single mother and is survived by her daughters.

According to India Today, the woman showed food poisoning symptoms almost an hour after eating the momo. After some time, she suffered from stomach pain, diarrhoea and vomiting.
Speaking to news agency PTI, sub-inspector of Banjara Hills Police Station Ram Babu said, "We received a complaint yesterday that Reshma Begum (33) died and 15 others suffered food poisoning after consuming momo(street food) from a single vendor at different locations. We have registered a case and are investigating the matter."
Police investigate Momo food poisoning case
In the investigation, the police found that the vendor did not have any food safety licence and the momowere being cooked in unhygienic conditions.
After getting prepared, the dough was kept in the refrigerator without any packing. In the investigation, it was also found that the door of the refrigerator was also broken.

The officials have collected samples from the food vendor and sent them for lab analysis.
According to the local media, the food stall at which the woman and others ate momo was named 'Delhi Momos'.
The stall was set up in Chintal Basti nearly three months back by six men who hailed from the Indian state of Bihar.
The police have stated that they have two people who were operating the stalls into custody and filed a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
