India's NIA announces bounty of $11,894 for gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday (Oct 25)announced a reward of$11,894 (Rs 10 lakh) for Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol. A report by the news agency ANI said that Anmol was charge-sheeted in two NIA cases in 2022.

His name gained attention recently in connection with the ongoing investigations in Mumbai, particularly related to activities involving a political party. The ANI report said that Anmol waswanted in connection with a shooting incident that occurred outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence earlier this year.

Anmol's links to criminal activities

Anmol has been linked to various criminal activities and is considered a significant figure in organised crime. Authorities believe that his apprehension could provide crucial insights into broader networks involved in illicit operations across the region.

As the NIA intensifies its efforts to track down Anmol, officials are urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid in his capture.

Suspected shooters in Baba Siddique's killing were in contact with Anmol

The bounty on Anmol came two days after the Mumbai Crime Branch said thatsuspected shootersinvolved in Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique's killing were in contact with Anmol.

The Crime Branch said that the suspected shooters had talked to Anmol through the instant messaging app Snapchatbefore killing Siddique.

Siddique sustained gunshot wounds to the chest after being shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar, Mumbai. He was taken to the city's Lilavati Hospital for emergency treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on October 12.

The Crime Branch has so far arrested 10 accused in the case, including two shooters and a weapons supplier.
