IMD issues warning for 'Menuku' cyclone in Maharashtra and Goa

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning for "Menuku" cyclone in the coastal regions of Maharashtra and Goa.
The IMD has stated that Menuku is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours and into a severe cyclonic storm in the subsequent 24 hours.
The department had also warned the fishermen to not to not to venture in the sea.
Earlier, the scientists had issued warnings of a thundershower and moderate rain in the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
An IMD scientist had said, "South-west monsoon has advanced to some parts of south Andaman sea, Nicobar Islands and South-east Bay of Bengal. Due to trough upper cyclonic circulations, light to moderate rain/thundershower likely to occur over Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next 3-4 days".
Also, warnings have been issued in various parts of Kerala for heavy, very heavy and extremely heavy rainfall from May 27 to May 29.
