'I am a Muslim, want to remain Muslim' says Hadiya in affidavit to Supreme Court

Hadiya, the 24-year-oldwoman in connection to the Kerala "Love Jihad" has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court stating that she is a Muslim and wanted to remain as a Muslim.
She also said that she wanted to remain the wife of Shafi Jahan.
Hadiya, originally a Hindu, converted to Islam and married a Muslim man Shafin Jahan.
It was alleged that Hadiya was recruited by the Islamic State's mission in Syria and Shafin Jahan was only a stooge.
Hadiya has been in the newsafter herconversion to Islamand marriage with Shafin Jahan in Kerala. The Kerala High Court had annulled her marriage and called it an instance of 'love jihad'.
Herhusband had approached the Supreme court while she stayed at her parental home in Kochi for several weeks. The apex court later freed her from her parents' custody and allowed her to travel to Tamil Nadu for her studies.
While hearing the case on January 23, the Supreme Court had said that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) cannot go into the marital status of Hadiya.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for February 22.
