
Maharashtrarun JJ Hospital has confirmed an overdose of medicines by Indrani Mukherjee.
The hospital authorities added that though she was stable now,the onus on finding out how she was driven into an overdose of medicines, lies on police.
Dean of JJ Hospital Dr Sudhir Nanandkar said, "It is a case of drug overdose. She was on anti-depressants. I asked her which tablets she had taken, but she did not reply. I will be asking her again. As far as the overdose is concerned, it is for the police to investigate".
The doctors in the hospital also said that Mukerjea was given medicines orally by jail guards at the specified time. She was also not allowed to store the medicines.
Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in daughter Sheena Bora's murder and former head of INX media, was admitted to the JJ Hospital in Byculla on the night of April 6.
According to media reports, she was rushed to the emergency ward in a " semi-conscious" condition.
In 2015, also Indrani was admitted to the same hospitalfor a suspected drug overdose.
