Internet giant Google will support Tamil Nadu government's digitisation efforts.

The government of Tamil Nadu aims to make all government websites mobile-friendly and plans to provide cloud credits for startups in the state.

Google Indis's Public Policy Director, Chetan Krishnaswamy noted at an event that Google would be pleased to work with the Tamil Nadu government and help it become a digitally empowered state.

The Tamil Nadu government launched the 'Internet Saathi' programme today to promote 'digital literacy for women.' State Information Technology Minister M Manikandan was also present at the launch.

Krishnaswamy also noted that the expansion of the 'Internet Saathi'model would benefit over 600,000 women in the first phase of the programme.
