The 1990s saw some of the best Bollywood romantic drama movies made.
The 1994 release Hum Aapke Hain Koun starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit in a complex family drama romance was one of the best that Bollywood saw in that genre. It remains to be a classic, having earned both critical and commercial success at the box-office.
The crackling chemistry between the lead pair -- Salman and Madhuri -- was so on point that even today, actors try to emulate in their on-screen presence as a couple.
Makers Rajshri Productions and Sooraj Barjatya are now thinking of remaking Hum Aapke Hain Koun for the younger audience -- introducing the classic filmfor the new-age generation. In a Facebook pollheld recently, the makers asked their fans if there should be a Hum Aapke Hain Koun remake and who should be cast in the roles of Salman and Madhuri. Their options in the list included Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.
Varun and Alia have starred in three movies together namely Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, all of which have performed well at the box-office. They are also rumoured to be starring inShiddat, though a confirmation is yet to be made.
Varun will next be seen in October helmed by Shoojit Sircar --slated to release on April 13.
Meanwhile, Alia will next be seen in Raazi helmed by Meghna Gulzar -- slated to release on May 11. She is currently working for Gully Boy with Ranveer Singh.
