The film release on Thursday and in four days of its release, the film has earned Rs 114 crores and going steady at the Box Office.

Owing to the controversy around the film and the long weekend, Padmaavatmanaged to get audiences to the theatres.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reports that Padmaavat, in its opening weekend, has crossed the business of films like Dilwale, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. In fact, Padmaavat has surpassed the collections of Deepika and Ranveer's 2013 film Bajirao Mastani, also directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Even in UK, Australia and New Zealand, Padmaavat is performing well.

Featuring Shahid Kapoor along with Deepika and Ranveer, the film was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on December 1 but owing to the protests, the release was pushed to January 25th.
