Padmaavat is proving to be Bhansali's career's biggest hit.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s magnum opus Padmaavatis refusing to slow down at the box office. The film, that was mired in controversies earlier this year, is Bhansali's career's biggest film and it is still pulling the crowd to the cinemas.

The film, which released on January 25th worldwide, has raked in a whopping Rs. 525 crores worldwide at the box office.

Padmaavat has beaten the records of the director`s previous films, including Bajirao Mastani and Ram Leela, in terms of its box office collections.

The film has been able to rise above the massive protests against the film across the country that had led to the film being banned in certain states including Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Expressing gratitude to the audience, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, stated that he was happy that the audience allowed him to present the rich Indian culture to the viewers.

"It`s a special feeling when your film receives so much love from audiences across the world. Padmaavat is a film that`s very close to my heart because I wanted to present our rich Indian culture to the rest of the world via the medium of cinema. As a filmmaker, there can be no better feeling than seeing audiences react so positively".

Padmaavat stars Shahid Kapoor as `Maharwal Ratan Singh` alongside Deepika Padukone playing `Padmaavati` and Ranveer Singh as `Allaudin Khilji`.
