The Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked the state to increase security by ensuring more paramilitary forces to be present during the pronouncementof the rape verdict on Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in Haryana tomorrow(Friday).
Justice Saron said the court may take the help of the Army if the police are unable to control Dera followers who are expected in large numbers at Panchkula where the court will pronounce the verdict on the rape case.
The Court, in fact, said it would take action against the Director General of Police in case the state failed to ensure security.
The Home Ministry has deployed150 companies of paramilitary forces in the two states to ensure security as Dera followers continue to pour intoPanchkula.Reports said at least 1.5 lakh Dera supporters have already arrived in the city.
The Punjab Government has already imposed section 144 across the state and ordered schools and colleges to remain shut in the state. Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on his part has said he will be present during the verdict and appealed to his followers to maintain peace.
"I have always respected the law. Even though I am having a backache, still abiding by law, I will go to court (tomorrow). I have full faith in God. Everyone should maintain peace," the Dera chief tweeted.

The rape case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh had allegedly occurred in 1999 but the police filed aFIR in 2002. The CBI court has been investigating the case since 2012with the verdict due out on Friday.
