The Delhi Police on Saturday announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for anyone who helps trace the man who allegedly masturbated while sitting next to a girl on a crowded bus.
The disgusting act was caught on camera by the Delhi University student sitting next to him, who later filed a complaint with the police.
In its notification, the police informed that a case has been registered against the man at the Vasant Vihar Police station and anybody with any information can report to their nearest police station.
The notification also said that the name of the whistleblower will be kept a secret.
The student alleged that a man was masturbating while sitting beside her on a crowded bus, adding he even tried to repeatedly touch her waist by his elbow.
The student managed to capture the act on camera and uploaded it on to social media, where it triggered massive anger and outrage with users demanding the immediate arrest of the man.
The accused man has been booked under Sections 354 (sexual harassment), 354A, and 294 (obscene act in public place) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
