A jawan opened fire on a CRPF camp in Chhattisgarh Saturday.
He killed four of his colleagues, and injured a fifth.
The shooting took place at the CRPF 168 Batallion Camp in Basaguda, Bijapur in south Chhattisgarh.
The four men killed were identified as Sub-Inspectors Vikey Sharma, Megh Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajveer Singh, and Constable Sankara Rao, Deputy Inspector General of Police Sundar Raj said.
ASI Gajanand suffered injuries in the incident, the DIG said.
The shooter, Constable Sanath Kumar, has been apprehended.
Police said he opened fire with his AK-47 at about 5 pm today, but that he was soon overpowered by his colleagues.
Police said Kumar had a brawl with the others just before he opened fire.
The bodies of the four men killed and the injured ASI were transported from Basaguda to Bijapur.
An MI17 helicopter was sent to airlift the bodies and the ASI to Raipur.
