China issues second 'safety advisory' to its citizens in India
The new advisory is stronger than the one issued previously on July 8 and will be valid until December 31, 2017
In a fresh advisory, China today asked its citizens in India to pay attention to personal safety and the local security situation.
This comes amid a two-month-long border standoff in Doklam.
The Chinese state media reported that in its second such advisory since the standoff, Beijing mentioned a number of new safety threats facing Chinese nationals in India and asked them to refrain from travelling unnecessarily.
"Natural disasters, traffic accidents and infectious diseases frequently occur in India," said the advisory, ANI reported.
"There were several cases of Chinese citizens who couldn't leave India because of expiration of their visa," it added.
It also asked Chinese citizens in India "to be wary of the situations above in order to secure themselves a safe journey abroad."
The new advisory is stronger than the one issued previously on July 8 and will be valid until December 31, 2017.
It also asksthe citizens to strictly comply with the Indian laws.
