Journalist Vinod Verma's bail plea rejected

A Raipur court on Monday rejected the bail plea of journalist Vinod Verma who was arrested on October 27 by Chhattisgarh police.

Verma was arrested in connection with a case of blackmailing and extortion.

Police alleged Verma tried to extort money from Chhattisgarh PWD minister Rajesh Kumar.

Verma informed the media persons at the time of his arrest that Chhattisgarh government was unhappy with him because he had "a sex CD of the state minister, Rajesh Munat".

Earlier the court extended Vinod Verma's judicial custody till November 13.
