Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir(J&K) just days after his previous visit as the government keeps a close eye on the security situation in the state.
The home minister will be accompanied by Union home secretary, joint secretary(J&K) and Minister of State(MoS) in Prime Minister's Office(PMO) Jitendra Singh.
The minister will also meet J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and review security arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra.
Rajnath Singh will stay in J&K for two days as he reviews the situation in the state.
India's home minister said he was "looking forward to interact with the youth and people living in border areas" including other sections of the society.
Last week the home minister had visited J&K as Pakistan troops opened fire in the Akhnoor, Kanachak and Khour sectors.
Although India and Pakistan DGMOs had agreed on the 2003 ceasefire agreement but there has been incessant firing along the Line of Control(LoC). The firing had led to the death of 2 BSF personnel.
