As Rajnath Singh visits J&K, terrorists attack Army patrol in Kupwara twice in 24 hours

Home minister Rajnath Singh is in J&K to review the security situation in the state and meet people in the border area.

A day after home minister arrived in Jammu and Kashmir(J&K)terrorists attacked an army patrol in Haril area of Kupwara district.

On Thursday, terrorists had ambushed the Army's patrol party in the Keran sector in Kupwara. Two soldiers were injured in the attack.

Home minister Rajnath Singh is in J&K to review the security situation in the state and meet people in the border area.

During a function in Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium in J&K, India's home minister said the Centre had decided to withdraw cases against stone-pelters.

"We believe that children anywhere are the same. We understand that some youth were misled into stone pelting."

"Children can make mistakes... That is why we decided to withdraw the cases against those children who were involved in stone pelting," he said.

Rajnath appealed to the youth in J&K to take the "path of development and not destruction." The home minister asserted that the state's sports infrastructure would be improved which he said "will change the face and destiny of the state."

Sing also facilitated several sportsperson from the state, including Parvez Rasool, Mehrajuddin, Rajinder Singh, Manzoor Dar and Tajjammul Islam.
