Nagaland and Meghalaya's new governments sworn in; PM Narendra Modi attends ceremonies

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday attended the oath-taking ceremonies of the newly elected governments of the Indian Northeastern states of Meghalaya and Nagaland.
This is the second time as chief minister forNational People's Party leader Conrad Sangma. He, along with some members ofhis cabinet, took oath as ministers for the new NPP-led Meghalaya government.
In Nagaland, the NDPP-BJP coalition won 37 seats in the 60-member Assembly in the recent elections. The government will be led by Neiphu Rio. Rio has been sworn in as the chief minister for the record fifth term. As per PTI, apart from Modi, among the attendees at the oath-taking ceremony were IndianUnion Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president J P Nadda and Assam Chief Minister and NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Modi is now scheduled to return to Guwahati, Assamin the evening where he will hold a closed-door meeting with the Assam cabinet before retiring for the night at Koinadhara state guest house.On Wednesday, he would leave for Agartala where he will attend a third oath-taking ceremony, that of the Manik Saha-led BJP government.
