The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday (Apr 14) released its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the country. The manifesto, with the tagline "Modi ki guarantee," focuses ondevelopment, women's welfare, and a roadmap for a developed India. Addressing the launch event, BJP National President JP Nadda said the manifesto reflects what the founding fathers of the party envisioned for the country.
"Today, as we launch the Sankalp Patra (manifesto), we will learn and discuss how we will serve the country for the next five years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Nadda added.
The BJPmanifestopromises"One Nation One Election," India's Olympics bid in 2036, and making the country the third largest economy in the world among many such assurances.

1) UCC: The BJP has promised to bring the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) if it wins the elections. "BJP believes that there cannot be gender equality till such time Bharat adopts a Uniform Civil Code, which protects the rights of all women, and the BJP reiterates its stand to draw a Uniform Civil Code, drawing upon the best traditions and harmonising them with the modern times," it said.
2) Formulating National Litigation Policy: The BJP has promised to formulate a National Litigation Policy to expedite the resolution of all matters in courts, lower the cost of contested court proceedings, and decrease the number of cases in which the government is a party and the consequent load on the courts.
3) One Nation One Election: The saffron party has said that the One Nation One Election will be a reality. "We have set up a High Powered Committee to examine the issues of conducting simultaneous elections and will work towards the implementation of the recommendations of the Committee," the party said in its manifesto.
4) Women empowerment: When it comes to women empowerment, the BJP has said it will expand health services for women, and increase their participation in sports and the workforce among other guarantees.
5) Youth: For the youth, the BJP has promised a law to prevent paper leaks for examinations, transparently conduct public sector examinations, expand the startup ecosystem, and increase employment opportunities in the manufacturing sector. The party has also promised to provide new employment opportunities in the tourism sector.
6) A Bharat First policy: Under this area, the BJP has promised to position India as a "voice of the Global South by using the Prime Minister’s visionary 5S approach of Samman, Samvad, Sahyog, Shanti and Samriddhi." The party is committed to seeking a permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
7) Fight against terrorism: "We will continue our efforts to create a consensus among all members of the United Nations on the Comprehensive Convention against International Terrorism and other such efforts to combat terrorism. We will build upon the success of the ‘No Money for Terror’ conference to develop better coordination on countering terrorism financing," the BJP said in its manifesto.
