An armed man is holding at least five people `hostage` inside a store in the Toulouse suburb of Blagnac in southwestern France, according to local reports. Police have surrounded the store and the area has been evacuated. TV channels are reporting that the gunman made a robbery attempt and threatened to fire at police officers. According to television reports, the hostage-taker has demanded to speak to a negotiator. A spokesperson for the national police said the man seized the hostages at 4:20 pm on Tuesday, 7 May, at a convenience store in the town of Blagnac, near the Toulouse airport.
