Zack Snyder unveils first teaser for 'Justice League' cut

Justice League

Zack Snyder has an update for all those waiting eagerly for the Snyder cut of ‘Justice League’.

Scheduled for release in 2021 on HBO Max, the teaser features Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman who discovers some artifact with a voiceover evoking Lex Luthor's (Jesse Eisenberg) dialogue from the end of ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ (2016). In the film, he had teased a threat coming towards earth.

The threat will be classic DC villain Darkseid.

The Snyder cut has become a reality after several years of fans campaigning for the same from the filmmaker. However, Zack hasn't revealed if it will be in the form of a film or mini-series.

Watch it here:

Quoted by The Hollywood Reporter, Zack said, "It will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie.”

WarnerMedia chairman Bob Greenblatt has noted the budget for the cut will likely go much higher than $30 million.

Snyder stepped away from Justice League in 2017 after a family tragedy, and Joss Whedon stepped in to oversee reshoots and post-production. The Whedon theatrical cut underwhelmed at the box office, earning $657.9 million globally, and soon fans were demanding Snyder be given a chance to complete his own vision, culminating on November 17, 2019 — the second anniversary of Justice League's release.

Even the actors in the film became a part of the fan campaign and urged Zack Snyder to complete the film in his style.

More information on the Snyder Cut will be revealed in August during DC FanDome, an online event Warner Bros. uses to promote DC films, TV shows and comics.
