Taylor Swift Effect: Kim Kardashian loses 500,000 followers after diss track 'thanK you aIMee'

Taylor Swift doesn't believe in subtlety and her new track "thanK you aIMee" proves it! Just when everyone thought that her tiff with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had come to an end, the pop star decided to release a full-blown diss track about a bully named Aimee, who fans believe is none other than Skims founder Kim Kardashian.

There are several references to the reality TV star in the track and even the letters K, I and M are capitalised in the song title to spell the makeup mogul's first name.

Other references can be seen in the song's lyrics, which read, "And maybe you've reframed it... And in your mind, you never beat my spirit black and blue... I don't think you've changed much... And so I changed your name and any real defining clues... And one day, your kid comes home singin'... A song that only us two is gonna know is about you, 'cause."

The song's release has massively impacted Kim's follower count and she is getting a lot of flak online.

According to reports, Kim had 364.3 million followers before the album drop. The numbers have now fallen to 363.8 million. That's a drop of over 500,000 followers in just a few days. That's not all, her comment sections are filled with hate comments from Swifties.

Reacting to the song on X, a user wrote, "I didn’t think I could love #TaylorSwift anymore and then she absolutely OWNED #KimKardashian. At this point, I’d just crawl under a rock if I was Kim." Another commented, "Taylor Swift taking shots at Kim Kardashian has me dying. Taylor is the queen of dissing people in her music and I respect that." A third user wrote, "Taylor Swift trolling Kim Kardashian is 2024 I’ve been waiting for…"

What's the Kanye-Kim-Taylor feud?

Don't we all remember the awkward moment when Kanyestormed the stage at the VMAs when Swift won the prize for Best Female Video in 2009? On the stage, he protested that Beyonce deserved the award for “Single Ladies” instead of Taylor.

Later in 2016, West released his song “Famous”, which featured the lyrics, “I feel like me and Taylor Swift might still have sex/ Why? I made that b**** famous.”When Taylor expressed anger at the song's lyrics, Kim leaked a phone callthat appeared to show Swift approving to have her name used in the song.

Later, Taylor released a statement that read, "Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous’.”
