
'PM Narendra Modi' featuring Vivek Oberoi will not be releasing on 5th April. The makers have now decided to release the film on 12th April, which was its original release date.
The film ran into trouble over its release date, soon after the first promo was out. Members of the Congress party alleged that the release of the film was flouting the model code of conduct. The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections in India kickstarts on April 11. The opposition raised objections to the release of PM Narendra Modi on April 5, a week before the elections.
Earlier, petitions were filed in Bombay and Delhi High Court appealing for a stay on the release. While the courts have dismissed the plea and the Examining Committee (EC) has also stated it has no objection to the release of the film but has added that the film needs a few changes in it. A Special Leave Petition (SLP) was also filed in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, challenging the Bombay High Court order and seeking a stay on the release of film 'PM Narendra Modi'.
Directed by Omung Kumar and on Narendra Modi's life, the film has been co-produced by Suresh Oberoi and Sunil Ssingh.
